OJL : Hello Marie.
Marie : Good morning.

OJL : So we will first try to understand your personality a little. Then secondly we will talk about your work.
So in order to know a little more about you, we’re going to start with four fun questions. Can you tell us what your favorite color(s) are?
Marie : Old pink.

OJL: The animal(s) you love?
Marie : My dog, Athena.

OJL: Which digit(s) or number(s) do you prefer?
Marie : The 3 like the trinity.

OJL: Finally, who are the superhero(ies) (see super-villains) that you admire?
Marie : King Arthur in the French TV show “Kaamelott”.

OJL: Let’s talk a little about you now. How could you introduce yourself ?
Marie :  My name is Marie, I have a beautiful family that I cherish. I discovered beads and embroidery when my mother opened her sewing and haberdashery workshop.
Since 1995, I have never stopped embroidering and making jewelry.

OJL: Who are the professionals who shaped you ? Who struck you down ? In a few names and why.
Marie :  Having pursued studies in art embroidery, CAP and BMA, I had the privilege of working in Haute couture embroidery houses where we work for the biggest names such as Chanel, Dior, Gaultier etc… Our little fairy hands seasoned with needle pricks, embroidered a thousand and one beads and multicolored sequins that will make the eyes of the general public shine.

OJL: How did you choose your pseudonym ?
Marie : After much reflection… In the simplest way possible (smile). Marie [for my first name] Embroidery [for my job] France [for my country].

OJL: Let’s talk a little about your work now. What are you creating ?
Marie : I mainly create jewelry embroidered with seed beads in a historical style, they are classified by era with ranges of colors such as ruby, jet, sapphire, emerald, etc…
I also offer cross stitch patterns to download including a collection of “Ladies in 19th century costumes”.

OJL: How can you define your style ?
Marie: My style is inspired by ancient jewelry, which extends from Antiquity to the beginning of the 20th century . I look at female portrait paintings a lot and am sometimes inspired to make a replica.

OJL: What techniques do you use ?
Marie : I mainly use embroidery and seed bead weaving to make my jewelry. I thread the beads one by one with thread and a fine needle.

OJL: Can we place you a personalized order ?
Marie : Yes of course. All requests can be studied .

OJL: Can we subscribe to your newsletter ? Because social networks are a bit saturated…
Marie : No I don’t have newsletters.

OJL: Do you have an anecdote about one of your products ? Or one of your sales ?
Marie : In fact, I had a client of the same name. We had the same first and last name.

OJL: Last question. You definitely have friends who are doing amazing things ! If you want to promote them a little, now is the time !
Marie : A person in particular : Hémiole.
She does medieval embroidery :
