Behind “Mimosa Création” we find Cécile. She lives in Grenoble in Isère [France]. She does illustrations. In life, her passions are the creation and the field of spiritual well-being and recently esotericism.

OJL : Hello Cécile.
Cécile : Hello.

OJL : So we will first try to understand your personality a little. Then secondly we will talk about your work.
So in order to know a little more about you, we’re going to start with four fun questions. Can you tell us what your favorite color(s) are ?
Cécile : Majorelle Blue which you find mainly in Morocco.

OJL : The animal(s) you love ?
Cécile : I love all animals for their diversity.

OJL : Which number(s) do you prefer ?
Cecile : the 8 for its curves. It represents infinity, strength…

OJL : Finally, who are the superhero(ies) (or super-villains) that you admire ?
Cécile : My heroes are often heroines. Like Wonder Woman (who is an Amazon) for example.

OJL : Let’s talk a little about you now. How could you introduce yourself ?
Cécile : To be honest, it’s not my favorite exercise (laughs). It’s not easy to talk about yourself… I am a woman, a mother, a dreamer and a patient person. I am animated by everything that is around me and that makes me vibrate. Like graphic art, music, photography etc… Currently, I am passionate about esotericism and I started reading the oracles but I think that it’s especially the “fairytale” illustrations that interest me (laughs). Besides, I would like to create my own oracle.

OJL : Who are the professionals who shaped you ? Who struck you down ? In a few names and why.
Cecile : Without a doubt Claude Monet. The famous painter of the Impressionism movement. I like his way of painting, his play of shadows and light with small touches of paint. Like a bit of a mosaic. Examples of paintings: “ Women in the garden” from 1867 and his series of the garden of Nymphéas in Givernis.

OJL : How did you choose your pseudonym ?
Cécile : I chose a plant in reference to a designer in interior design in Texas who called her business magnolia. I followed her for a long time by watching her decoration shows and on her social networks accounts. I am a fan !
And my choice of the mimosa, this Mediterranean tree, is because I really like it for its little “pompom” flowers. They are ephemeral and only appear around february. These little yellow pompoms look like little stars… There is a magical side to this tree. That’s what I like about this tree (smile).

OJL : Let’s talk a little about your work now. What are you creating ?
Cécile : I create illustrations digitally but also in pencil.

OJL : How can you define your style ?
Cécile : Timeless and figurative.

OJL : What techniques do you use ?
Cécile : For digital, I use Illustrator and Photoshop.

OJL : Can we place you a personalized order ?
Cécile : Not for the moment.

OJL : Can we subscribe to your newsletter ? Because social networks are a bit saturated…
Cécile : I do not have any. But you can follow my news on my website and on my Instagram account.

OJL : Do you have an anecdote about one of your products ? Or one of your sales ?
Cécile : I don’t remind one specific.

OJL : Any resolution for this new year 2024 ?
Cécile : First, I am happy that my website works. This is a very good news for the end of 2023. And then for 2024… Well, I would be happy to go more often on the north and by the sea. I was, for example, in Normandy for the end of 2023.

OJL : Last question. You definitely have friends who are doing amazing things ! If you want to promote them a little, now is the time !
Cécile : I don’t have anyone that comes to my mind at the moment.

OJL : Bravo for what you do. May Our Lady protects you.
Cécile : Thank you.
