Behind “Sblahlahlah” we find Sibylle Guyot. She lives in Strasbourg in Alsace and does illustrations. In life, her passions are above all drawing, of course, but also music and especially the piano.

OJL : Hello Sibylle.
Sibylle : Hello.

OJL : Four quick questions before getting to the heart of the matter.
As you live in Strasbourg, can you tell us what your favourite café is there? And what do you like to take there?
Sibylle : I really like the “Thé des Muses”. I taste a different tea each time I visit the place ! But my favourite has to be the matcha tea.

OJL : And what is your favourite park or place ?
Sibylle : I live quite close to the shared gardens. I go there whenever I can to watch the evolution of the plants according to the seasons and to come across some cats ! (laughs). When you live in the city, it’s really good to disconnect a little by going through a corner of nature.

OJL : Next, what was the last book you read ? And the last song you listened to ?

Sibylle :_Regarding to the book : I recently finished the “Blackwater” series by Michael McDowell. A sort of family saga tinged with a fantastic and even sometimes horrifying atmosphere. These books are really easy to read, and keep us in suspense throughout the six volumes. I started reading the first book somewhat by chance, only because I liked the cover (smile). But I didn’t regret it at all.
_Regarding to the song : I listen to a lot of music, but it seems to me that the last song I listened to was “Turkish Delight” by The Mysterons. I don’t know much about this group other than their music, but it seems to me that they have broken up for some time. To be checked…

OJL : Finally, do you have a quote and/or proverb that you like?

Sibylle : I admit I don’t know many quotes, so I cannot say I have a favourite.

OJL : Let’s talk a little about you now. How could you introduce yourself ?
Sibylle : As you have already read, my name is Sibylle and I am an illustrator. I am 22 years old and I recently started my artistic activity. However, I have been interested in illustrations for several years now and I have always been drawing.

OJL : Who are the artists who shaped you ? Who struck you down ?
Sibylle : I started to be interested in art through my parents, who first showed me the works of Mucha, Waterhouse, Turner, Millais, Morris etc… All these artists remain my main inspirations even today… Subsequently, I became interested in the cinema and directors like Del Toro or Miyazaki influenced me a lot.

OJL : How did you choose your incredible pseudonym ?
Sibylle :It’s simply the nickname that my friends gave me, and it stuck ! (laughs).
