I’ve been in love with the gothic aesthetics since 1998, I think (after seeing the movie The Matrix).I only learned much later that there was a rather gothic goddess (there are several, actually, and I believe they’re all linked to the dark moon). The gothic goddess I want to tell you about is : the Morrigan. She’s a pillar of the keltic (or celtic) mythology.
But how did I first hear about her?
Believe it or not, here’s my story… I was going through a very difficult time in my life… because I was regularly receiving death threats at my business. One evening, I prayed silently, and I thought to myself, « Damn, there must be a powerful spirit out there somewhere that can sweep all these bastards away! »And in the night, I saw the silhouette of a woman with long black hair. Then I had the feeling that she was telling me : « Get a move on! »
The next day, I started my research online, and when I saw people’s testymony about the Morrigan… I had a strong feeling that this vision was her.
Then I discovered this incredible song by Trobar de Morte:
My story is a bit old now. And a lot of what I read about the Morrigan… I now consider false. Besides, I didn’t really know how to talk about her. There are so many lies. So many political BS…
And the other day, I came across the image used for the cover of this article. And I immediately loved it… Indeed, I don’t believe that beings with horns and a dangerous look are inherently evil. Moreover, in ancient religions, a deity with horns wasn’t considered evil (Isis could have horns, for example).

In summary, I see the Morrigan as a ruthless businesswoman. The mother of banshees. The vampire queen. The guardian of the compass of good and evil. Incorruptible justice. I love her so much. She has made me so much deeper and wiser. I see her as an inseparable facets of the moon. My advice : pray her.
