It was under a beautiful summer sun that the first “La petite médiévale” event took place from August the 6 to the 7 of 2022 at the Keranével castle in Melgven [France – Brittany – 29140].
The organizers of this medieval festival were previously in Moncontour (22510). They are the “Vikings & Knights” association. The aim of this association is to plan markets, festivals and parties with an identity who can be medieval, fantastic, fantasy, Vikings, pirates, Keltic (Celtic) etc… In a good mood.
On the site, a huge parking lot was available for the visitors. Once past the powerful guards and paying the €3 entrance fee, visitors were able to discover a green and safe place overlooked by the castle of Keranével. A true haven for families and their children.
The camp, organized in a U shape, largely featured the medieval market. The activities took place in the hollow of the U and on the square in front of the castle. A tavern and a food truck were available to the many visitors (some of whom came in costume).

There are some people who have the body for their job. In the case of Mr. Ribon, he really looks like a blacksmith. Which does not mean that he is not capable of delicacy !
And delicacy he has, because he is a cutler. We particularly appreciated one of his knives with a Japanese-style handle (a precise and rigorous culture).

Stone sellers always attract a lot of people. It must be said that many people are sensitive of their virtues.
The shop also offers jewellery, potions… and many other things…
Little bonus : the “ So British ” accent of the owner. Rare in France.
Conclusion :
Although our magazine is more “Knights” than “Vikings” oriented, the reception was warm.
There we met lovely witches and dragons guarding their only treasure : their families.
Let us remember that promoting our heritage is absolutely essential. Each participant in these medieval festivals helps to honour our ancestors and build our future. These gatherings are essentials.
Bravo.
